Will this key fob work for my tl?

I have an 04 TL and want to put my key into a newer model switchblade key. I have the key already and bought a flip key but apparently the transmitter wasn't compatable with my car and I can't get the keyless entry to work. Before I buy another one I want to see if it would work. The numbers are: FCC ID: OUOG8D-439H-A, IC: 850G-G8D439HA, COFETEL: RLVOMG806-302, MEMORY 1. and heres the ebay listing for it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/07-08...Q5fAccessories
if anyone knows if the keyless will work? I don't want to buy another switchblade fob that isn't compatable

That wont work, you can program the key fob(lock, unlock, trunk panic buttons) yourself. But you need one with a key that has been cut down to replicate a "blank" key with the pattern for the older keys. I bought mine from a guy that sells them online for like 100 or 120 bucks. then I took it to a locksmith and he cut and programed the key for me. and when you go to get the key cut and programed, take all your keys with you because he will have to reprogram each key. and you can only program up to 3 keys total. hope that helps... oh yea one more thing, the whole making your old key work thing is totally not worth the time and energy, and even if you do make it, I dont think it will be very strong and will probably end up breaking off. Its worth it to just order the blank key from the guy that sells them online allready cut down to the correct key blank...

how is the key uncompatable? The TL switchblade keys have worked perfectly fine with the older tl's. Maybe you got an MDX or an RDX or a TSX one... What's the code on the back of you transmitter?

memory 1... the same

Yes, that transmitter WILL work thats listed on ebay. But as far as the key goes(the one listed on ebay) it has allready been cut, so the key itself is no good unless your going to try and cut your valet key up and put it in that key fob... and that soo wouldnt be worth the trouble. Just go to this link and spend the money if you really want a switchblade key lol

Ya the switchblade I have is supposedly for a Canadian TSX I came to find out after I bought it... But at least I have a cheap one to try and modify to put my key in before I go and spend more money on a fob that will work. Heres the info on the one I have now FCC id:N5F0602A1A IC: 3248A-0602A1A COFETEL: RLVVA0606-447
