whistle

Hi guys my 06TL currently has around 27k miles. I just started her today and I heard a little whistle or a whine. The sound is similar to an aftermarket amp/radio system with a bad ground, except my car is stock and it happens even when the radio is off. The sound is not coming out from the speaker, more of like from the engine bay. But it is much audible inside the cockpit. I'm planning to make an appointment with the dealer, but for now I can't since I need the car for this weekend. Just want to have the piece of mind that this won't be something major. Any ideas what it is?

Thanks all....

could be a belt depending on what the whistle sounds like.

Okay, I thought you had the same problem as me until you said it was the radar detector. I don't have one but I still have the whistle. Every time I speed up the whistle appears. It's kinda cool because it's pretty quite and sounds like a fricken jet (a very tame jet) lol
