Just bought a 06 TL and this is in the glove box. I've looked everywhere in this car of where it might go. Can anyone help. Does it even go to my car

Funny.....in 07 I took delivery of my TL and found this under the drivers seat. Had no idea what the hell it was and placed it by the seat rails.
Always have complained that the 3G does not have a sunglasses holder up by Homelink like the 2G.
About 10 years later I saw someone post about this and finally put it in the door.....found the other one on the passenger side.

 

I have yet to even use those for my sunglasses in the 8+ years I have had my TL. They usually end up with various wrappers/napkins crammed in them.

yep....after I put the holder in the correct place, I check the other side and said....sure enough

 

And you can buy an extra coin holder and mount in thE same area on the fold out pocket

 

what's the fold out pocket? Nothing in my TL folds, except the trunk floor cover.

 

Pull on the top of the front door pockets-- the tops will fold outwards... to give better access to the sunglass holders on each side.

 

For some reason my side coin holder always falls off....moved it to the upper level or the arm rest. The coin holder is an interesting accessory. The 3G TL just keeps on surprising.
Everytime I clean the interior of my car I am impressed by the quality of the build and the quality of materials used 11 years ago. Soft touch almost everywhere and the fit and finish are excellent.

 

oh yeah, i always use that. I would consider it an opening door pocket. Folding would entail some sort of bend.

 

The manual states that it is a sunglass holder. If you think about it, it makes some sense. Especially in the warm weather how many times have you burned your face putting on scorching sunglasses from being overhead.

 

haha i've used those holders to store my sunglasses every day for the last 9 years
