When I purchased my car (2007 TL-S), my dealer provided me with a recommended maintenance schedule for the car. The dealer maintenance schedule suggests I come in every 3,750 miles for various maintenance visits (I'm assuming so they make more $).

Should I follow the Acura Maintenance Minder system or go by whats listed in the dealer maintenance schedule?

Most suggest following the MID. Some disagree. I guess the relevant question is who knows more about the car and it's needs - The Design Engineers; The Dealer; or Some Guy on the Internet?

The Dealer maintenance schedule will guarantee the dealer gets a look at your $ more often. Can you say, "Conflict of Interest"?

 

Be very leery of any Dealer that recommends more frequent service intervals. They are looking for ways to improve revenue and may push other services that are not needed. I would suggest looking for another Dealer when it is time to take the car in for service.
