Whats happening??!!
So the problem is now in first gear. Only in first gear when I go WOT the car seems to hit the rev-limiter at 5000rpms and bounces back and forth for 1-11/2 seconds before it kicks in HARD right before the actual rev-limiter about 6000rpms. I thought it was a computer issue so I reset the battery. Nothing still does it and it is not just in manual mode but in regular auto too. I noticed a month back that in 3rd the rpms would hover right at the same point briefly for a half a second before pulling all the way through.
So in sounds it goes waaaaaaaaa wa wa wa WAHHH!!! if you can understand what im trying to say.(probably not lol)
But it feel like Vtech isnt kicking in and then kicks in after the over-rev phenom. There is a def problem i just wanted to see if anyone else has had it before i take it in.
To make myself clear the car IS over-reving at 5,000 RPMS the transmission feels like it disengages the reengages with a extreme pull for only a half a second. The car runs perfect and it does not happen in anyother gear. I did just delete my cats and have been running the car harder with the new found power but whats up?
Please help and thanks in advance

any codes?
check your oil, when there's low oil, pressure obvioulsy drops.
when there's sufficient pressure drop, vtec fails to engage....when vtec fails to engage due to low oil pressure, the ECM tries to prevent the motor from going any higher in the rev range, simply due to lack of sufficient oil.
When oil is very low, once vtec attempts to engage and fail, it will set a whole bunch of codes, throwing the car in complete limp mode, where you can't even rev past 3k, and even up to 3k it revs extremely slow.
Since u got rid of ur cats, I hope you dont have a CEL due to o2 sensor...if you do, the car will run stupid rich, and youll start burning oil, which can lead to what i said above.
That cutoff at 5k usually doesnt even throw any codes when its not too agressive, but check your oil level!!!
