What is this?!? And what does it connect to? Engine bay/Vacuum Line? 2006 TL

Just changed my starter and found this hard line without a vacuum hose attached. There were none nearby that I saw, but lighting was poor. It was covered in grime that wiped away easily with my thumb. The other side of the hard line has a hose on it.

This pic is just above the starter and a few inches back toward the firewall.

Do I need to get a specialty hose and what is it and where does it connect? Car has been running fine for 2 years and I'd have never seen this until I had to change the starter.

Thanks!

Awww, come on, use your imagination. It's clearly the flux capacitor drain line. Just clean it off and you'll be fine.

It's a vacuum hose for the trans.. there isn't a connection to it. You're not missing a line.
