What Is This Part?

Ever since I got my engine bay shrouds painted, I never figured out where this part goes. The only thing I know is that it has to belong under the hood somewhere.

I know somebody knows what it is and where it goes. Help me out, fellas.

TIA

not sure, but try to take some more focused pictures. there may be a 'macro' mode on your camera, which is a flower symbol. use that

Kinda hard to tell what it is because the pics are so blurry.

Try macro mode and/or a tripod.

The pics are MORE THAN GOOD ENOUGH to recognize what it is. It is a unique piece.

If there was a schematic of underhood parts, I'm sure I could figure it out.

....flux capacitor....
It is one of those plastic "clips" that hold the plastic covers that run along the sides of the engine compartment. I took all of that stuff out of my car. Those covers just add weight and I think they hold engine heat in also....just my opinion.

It would be helpful to know the exact location.

just looks like a plastic anchor bro... no worries... usually the tag a wire harness in-line with the engine bay wall or with a fixed point in the bay... or it's used for tagging some thin plastic component/shield somewhere.. either way, the pics are clear enough, and you have no need to worry .. i've lost several of these types of anchors over the years... car still seems to work... i think.

Thanks, Peter. I know I probably don't need it. I've had it off for over a year now.

I'm just curious to see where it goes.

It looks like the clip that holds the battery cover in place (on the back side of the battery cover).

that's the plastic clip that keeps your engine from falling out of the car

haha jk of course. seems like cars are made up of 95% a bunch of bolts, screws and plastic clips and some metal panels.

Bro, you are THE MAN!!

That's exactly what it was. It fits in the L/R corner of the battery cover as you look at it. Finally...

However, I found that I don't need it after all because the clip clips into the stock intake assembly which I don't have on because I have a CAI. So after all that , it ends up that I can't use it!

Seriously, thanks, though!
