What this on the engine/transmission missing a sensor?

What this on the engine/transmission missing a sensor?



Does that mean ive been driving without a sensor or does it just need to be plugged in? Any knowledge about what is or isn't missing I'd appreciate it thanks Acura Fam

If you stick a small screwdriver in there and hit a dead stop, then it's simply a hole used during casting of the casing or it's a mounting hole for some sort of bracket. If it's an open hole exposed like that for years then your trans would have issues already.
