Hey guys, i was cleaning up the splash shields and replacing broken plastic push tabs and I noticed a white cap and a corresponding ball tab disconnected on the slave. Tried to reconnect but broke the ball tab off that would connect to white cap thing. What does this part do and is it important to have? Never seen it before so pardon my lack of knowledge! White plastic cap with corresponding ball tab on slave? (just broke ball off trying to reconnect)
Yeah that one! I also checked online but didn't see any part that looked like that either. Interesting, wonder if another shop added it to the slave for some reason. The end with the ball that broke off has a small zip tie design around the slave as well so I didn't think it was a factory installed piece. Almost looked like it kept the rubber in position but I'm probly way off haha

Here's a picture of the OEM slave 46930-SDP-A01 just for reference and it does not have that white piece:
The only thing I can think of that that white piece would do is, perhaps, dampen any noise / squeak that would develop
with the metal on metal contact between the ball on the slave and cup of clutch release fork?
Pretty sure that's to aid in slave installation when the slave is fully compressed, the ball "locks" into it's corresponding seat to keep the piston compressed. Once slave is installed on the block, simply pry/pop the ball outta the seat, and the piston extends?...
