Angry WHAT to do??

Okay...my NBP 6mt is 4 days old and Im having problems already!!

I was getting on the freeway tonight driving relatively slow (shifting at 3k rpms or so) and as i got on the freeway and shifted into 5th I hit a bump in the road. Swirved a little bit and I noticed the VSA light come on with the ! light at the same time. I was like hmmm....then I took a second look and the VSA, ABS and ! light all were still on.

When I stopped and turned the car off, and back on again the lights remain on. Has anyone ran into this problem??

The rear speaker deck is also a rattle box, but from my search I see its a common problem.

In addition to these problems, on cold starts my car seems to struggle to start, and somtimes makes a clicking noise......

It could be that a sensor fell out of its socket for the wheel and that would cause the VSA and abs lights to stay on. I had that problem. They can just fix that.

But I wouldn't return the car due to your error. However, the rear speakerdeck and the cold start, have them look at.

What does that have to do with anything.

I'd take the car back to the dealer and have them look at it.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The Ohio Acura plant has one of the highest quality ratings in the car industry. ALL cars have problems, not just Acura. I had a friend with a Mercedes who just gave up after countless trips back to the shop for warranty issues....YES...it was a lemon..a German Lemon. I've had several Acura's, one made in Japan, and although the paint was better on the Legend made in Japan, all the USA built cars were great...NO problems. I blame the paint on the EPA...not the Ohio plant.

The dealership claims that it is a defective front right wheel sensor . So At least there is nothing substantial wrong...Just have to wait for the part to come in. They said they would give it back untill tomorrow but the wheel could lock up at any time...?

It's nice to see the dealership is taking care of you. I'm really getting sick of hearing these horror stories about acura service.

What do you mean the wheel(steering wheel or actual tire/wheel) could lock up at any time?

Im not sure, he just told me that the wheel could lock up at any time. From the way he said it, it sounded like the wheel, meanning rim and tire. I dont know if that is completley accurate though?

If my Service Advisor said, "the wheel may just lock-up", I would simply hand him the keys and say give me a loaner.

Yeah I just dropped it off.. I have a company vehicle so I didn't want to hassle with the loaner stuff. They claim it will be ready tomorrow morning.

UPDATE:

They called me today after replacing the wheel sensor sending unit and there is still warning lights coming on. So they said they are going to replace the hub and all of the electrical parts in the front right. It was odd to me that the service rep said, "my tech noticed that all of the electrical parts and the hub were in horrible condition."
Do they not inspect new cars before selling them? I did nothing to the car to damage it yet, and it only has 250 miles on it!

Could have been damaged without you knowing it? You never know, maybe something got caught up in the wheel well....

Maybe mice ate the wiring... lol

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem. My VSA light and ABS light are on after I was driving normally. Whenever I turn off my car for a while and then turn it back on, it doesn't appear until I drive a while or hit rough roads. What did the dealer have to do to fix this problem for you?

I agree - you should not be having these sorts of problems with a new car- it must be frustrating. It sounds like you are getting good service though and that they will get things taken care of. Hang in there- it is a darn fun car.

Oh- as an aside- I see that “made in Ohio = crap" quote every once in a while on this site and just want to say that's a load imo. Living in Ohio, I have met several folks who work at the plant in question and they have all absolutely brimmed with pride in what they do. You are an American- do you have pride? Do you make sure that your particular job is done well? Do you work your tail off so that you can afford your TL and other toys? I bet you actually do -as do most of us. The problems in quality seen at several American brands was mostly due to a lack of focus / priority in the right areas by the company culture- not by the "no good lazy American worker." Sorry- not trying to flame- just tired of seeing that one. Made in Ohio - designed in California makes me feel proud as I drive my TL.

Thanks-
