What Could Be Causing these Problems?
Maybe starter issue, maybe fuse, maybe some bad wiring, maybe bad battery or bad switch somewhere...again, it all depends on the actual symptoms.
My car stopped working while I was driving. Its the alternator.
I have following codes.
61-1 Battery Voltage Malfunction
86-1 Controller Area Network Relation Malfunction
83-1 Engine Control Module ECM, Power Control Module (PCM) Relation Malfunction.
Are these due to the alternator or are they fried?

My battery cables were faulty, previous owner replaced the end connectors with auto zone connectors, vehicle was not getting full power before, when I replaced the cables, I received full power.
That's why these codes were appearing:
61-1 Battery Voltage Malfunction
86-1 Controller Area Network Relation Malfunction (unsure)
Since my 05 TL is receiving full power now, the alternator fried, also in part because previous owner had a sound system in the vehicle.
The other codes:
83-1 Engine Control Module ECM, Power Control Module (PCM) Relation Malfunction.
is due in part because of alternator? Or is my ECU damaged?

I was leaning towards cables too. Good to know you can confirm that.
As for the alternator, i bet the guy didn't install a power capacitor to absorb the excess electricity, which you're lucky if it only fried your alternator.
I Don't think its the ECU as there should be a failsafe against electrical drawbacks. Your alternator and headlight, those two are expose. It's crazy how a 40$ piece of equipment can save you thousands in repairs...and most people dont even put one.
