i have the same problem... took it in once and they did the TSB per my request but that did not help. When i listen to mine i hear it the most at the right front wheel well. It sounds like water bubbling. Its doesn't seem good.

i gotta have it fixed before i put on my new ATLP exhaust.

Hmm, i have the same sound but i can only hear it from the inside, coming from the passenger footwell. It sounds exactly likw water boiling too.

Could be a throwout bearing on its way out as someone mentioned already.

I work at Acura and there is a TSB for 05-07 TL for the symptom you are mentioning. It is for a complaint of a chirping sound from the timing belt side. The fix is a new t-belt, shim for idler pulley, grinding of mount in front of idler pulley and new crank gear

that's not relevant to the OP's symptoms. I agree if it's a chirping from the passenger front wheel well that's not associated with the drivebelt then it's definitely the timing belt TSB.. but he says it goes away when he puts pressure on the cluth which indicates a fouled bearing. OP.. PM SouthernBoy or take your TL to a reputable service shop that specializes in Honda's. Or take it to Acura.. They'll say new Tranny.. then take it to a reputable service shop.

^^ I guess I missed that part.. but I've seldom heard that input shaft bearing go on the 3G TL's/UA6's.. it was more common on the old d/b - series honda/acura's

My initial reaction was the release bearing. A few questions, please.

o What year is the car and are you the original owner?
o Does this happen whether or not the engine is fully warmed up?
o Is it consistent in that if happens all the time and not just occasionally?
o Do you notice any sort of "roughness" when depressing the clutch pedal?

Try this. In a safe area, like your driveway or a parking lot, simulate the conditions where this happens. Then just barely touch the clutch pedal. Does the sound disappear? If not, apply just a little more pressure until it does disappear.

Let us know what you come up with.

Ok, so you're the original owner therefore you are the history of and with the car. Did (or do) you ever have a habit of resting your foot on the clutch pedal, even ever so lightly, while driving? Or rest your foot on the pedal while sitting at a light?

As for occasionally happening, does this mean after a long drive in traffic?

Now still try what I suggested to do in my prior post.

It's your throwout bearing. Mine started to go out at 49,485 miles on it. Take it to the dealership and they will replace it. If you wait it will get worse. No warranty will run you about 1500 bucks. That's what they told me. They also fixed my third gear problem too. Yeah I have an 05 too.

To salu8819;

In case you're not aware, the terms "throwout bearing" and "release bearing" are one and the same.. same component.

The two most common reasons for release bearing failure are lack of toeplay and resting one's foot on the pedal. That is why I asked the question. No need to get defensive.

Ok, that's fine. Remember, I don't kow you from Adam so I am trying to get whatever information I can to help with some sort of diagnosis. From your description, those who suggested the release, or throwout, bearing are most likely correct. This is definitely something you would want to have fixed sooner rather than later.

Let us know how it comes out.
