Stick your head in there with a flashlight and see if you can spot a leak.

Could be a bad windshield seal... exactly what part of the driver's side carpet is getting wet?

Does it get wet any time or only during/after a rain/car wash?

Not sure if it could be it, but on a friend's Toyota she was getting water under her driver's seat. It was the seal in the metal (firewall?), so when water would come down the windshield and through the plastic holes on the outside, it runs down the outside wall and seeps in. Same thing happened to my brother's fit, but in the back. What I did in both cases is used some silicone to reseal it.

Thanks guys for your input. but it was some water in the center of the driver side from the pedal to the front of the seat. Um i not sure how this happen yesterday i try to find the leak i use my pressure washer and spraying the car like crazy and was feeling the carpet to see if it was dry.
also to add when i pressure wash the car yesterday i spray underneath it to to see if it will leak from underneath the car nothing. I inspect the cowl and didnt see any leaves or build up i guess i will have to take the cowl apart and look even farther.

Hey just so you know I had the same problem. I have an Acura Tl 2004. Basically when ever it rained really hard the drivers side carpet would get wet. I pulled the carpet back ( easy procedure) and then drove when it was raining. It was coming in from the bottom of the door and leaking over onto the carpet. I replaced the whole inside door seal for about $80.00. Did it myself. No more leak.
