Warranty Defective Parts Return???

Does anyone know what the dealership does with the parts they take off our car that are defective and then replaced with new OE parts? I am having both my headlights replaced next week and I would love to have them back for spare parts when I take them apart and clear/paint them. I plan to do this once my warranty is up in August.
Any experiance with this members?

Generally speaking when the dealership files a warranty claim with corp they send the defective parts back.

Not sure what acura does, but i know mazda, chevy and isuzu dealers have to hold that part for 30 days. If the company does not call the part back for inspection it gets thrown away.
