Vibration in new brakes.

I had a vibration in my breaks like when you get with warped rotors. So I replace the breaks and rotors. Pads were worn evenly rotors didn't look bad at all. After installing the new ones the vibration was still there. It's more of a front end vibration and no so much in the steering wheel shake like when the rotors are warped. Does anyone know what else can cause a vibration like this? It's a 2006 TL.

Thanks
Anthony

A vibration can be caused by several things. If the vibration was only occurring while braking, than the brakes would most likely be responsible. If you are getting a vibration even when not braking, it is most likely something else (tie rods, ball joints, unbalanced tires, wheels ect). It could also be something worn or loose in one of the steering components.

Your best best is to take a look around and see if anything is loose. Use a pry bar to see if anything is moving. It wouldn't hurt to have the tires rebalanced also.........

^^^^^^^This apply if you are not braking.

However if you apply the brake and the symptom occur then its more about improper torque technique/ spec on your lug nuts (get a torque wrench). More importantly did you bedding the pads prior to use it as regular DD? improper bedding and improper torque technique can lead to a new rotor become warp due to rotor run out and uneven pad material distrubution. Check google more details.

Thanks for the reply guys. The vibration is mostly during breaking. I do feel a slight vibration at highway speed. I always tork my lug nuts. I did do a quick look through and looks like my lower control arm bushing don't look to healthy. Every thing else visually looks ok till I get it in the air and start prying around. Do you think that could be the cause. It was the same type of vibration comparing the old breaks and rotor to the new, which led me to believe that it's not the breaks. Thanks again.

Bad control arm does not produce vibration during braking, your car will simply bounce more than normal (wobble) is the term. Did you bed the rotor brakes prior to use?
