Vibration between shifts

Any one else have this issue?

I have a 2004 Automatic Trans TL with approx 78,000 miles on it

When accelerating slowly (especially on inclines) I am getting a vibration when going between 1st and 2nd gear. I don't feel it when I accelerate faster and it only seems to occur at low speeds in the lower gears. It's more pronounced with the AC on too.

Any suggestions?

How old is your trans fluid? It is hard to know with the description, but you could be describing trans shudder - if so, this is not good.

If you have never changed your fluid before, then you might do it now. I use Redline D4 or Mobil 1 Synthetic in the Grey Bottle. There are super long discussions on here that you can search and read. I would avoid the Honda fluid.

Thanks. The trans fluid was never changed so I was planning on doing that soon. I was planning on going to the dealer as trans fluid changes are messy. I'm guessing it requires the pan to be dropped.

There is a drain bolt on it just like you are changing oil. If there is not a DIY in the garage, just do a search and you will get more than you need.

Even if this does not help your vibration, the fluid change is long overdue.

Tranny Shudder

I have the car at a transmission shop now. The owner test drove the car and thinks I'm feeling the torque converter. He will diagnose it further but thinks a 3x3 tranny flush may solve the issue.

I found this online which is basically what he explained to me

Thanks nismopowerdqg

I just heard back from the trans shop. He said the fkuid was very dirty and did the 3x3 with full synthetic fluid. He drove it several miles and couldn't duplicate the issue. He said 8 out of 10 times this fixes the issue
