Very sluggish performance *Random

So every now and then, my TL which is a 6 speed 05 with 86k miles seems to lose all power and feel as slow as my automatic integra. It will happen randomly then will continue happening until the car has been off for at least an hour or more. I've done some research and at first i thought this was just a heat issue, but now I am not so sure. The power loss is considerable, in first gear the car would go forward normally for a split second then lurch a little bit as if i dumped the clutch too hard then i would literally have to be at 70% throttle to accelerate at a normal pace.

Im wondering if the following things would possibly help this seemingly random problem that the Acura dealership cant reproduce.

ECU Reset, New Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter, Seafoam, CAI, TB Spacer, Remove all plastic from engine bay?

Check the threads regarding the APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) sensor.

G/L!

Sounds like a sensor issue as mentioned. NO check engine lights?

No CELs at all, not even a flash of one, its very strange, and impossible to reproduce on command :-/ I was thinking about the APP but... Would it be intermittent like this or 24/7?

I wouldnt think its intermittent unless the clutch is going retarded on you. After all it is self adjusting.

Because of your miles, you might need to change your sensors. Most change APP sensor with good results. I also change the IAT sensor as well. I had similar symtoms. I've changed mine a few weeks ago, and still going strong.

Nope, the APP on the 3rd gen TL is mounted to the firewall on the passenger side behind the strut brace. There is a great write-up with pics if you search for the thread mentioned above.

u should do a tune of of the following that u listed.

If u gotta throttle 70% jus to go normal pace, sounds like ur clutch is slipping. Put in a new clutch then u can really put all ur power down

your mpg must be pretty bad?

No the clutch isnt slipping i don't believe becasue if it did i would see the rpms shoot up but my car go nowhere right?

And my mpg is sitting around 19 - 25 depending on how much highway driving i do. This problems so strange because theres so many factors yet they seem to cancel each other out...

The service manager at the acura dealer near me wants me to drive it to him as soon as it happens but ive never been able to get it to him while its doing it, he drove my car a few times with me in it to see if it would do it, and he really wants to fix the problem for me, but it cant be pinpointed nor can it be reproduced

Edit** I'm going to bring my car in for the 3rd gear problem seeing as its doing it, maybe i should have them check the clutch while they're working on it?
