Vent scar left by air freshner
Hello All,
I went to a dealer for a routine check up before the summer. I told him to test the A/c as in Texas it gets reallyhot. I did point them few things in the car like some plastic vents were broken etc. This took a good deal 3 days...as the parts they ordered came of the wrong size etc. But i am not complaining since i had the loaner car.
Problem:
I have a air freshner that is placed on to the middle vent. So while they were testing the A/c they turned the freshner upside down. The result was that the entire air freshner leaked and the car smealls a lot. And now the plastic below the vents has stain marks of perfume which do not seem to go away. This plastic is just below the 2 middle vents and above the headunit start point. HOw can i get this out?? I have tried various products that are used to clean plastics inside the car, bleach that is safe on all types of plastics etc.but it does not come out.
I can go ahead and ask them to order me a new plastic for those vents but the problem is time..to go there drop the car etc.
So if you all can suggest something it would be great. I will post some pictures tomorrow to explain more.
Thanks,
PK

many of those perfumes are acidic and can damage plastics. Can you post a picture of what you are talking about? It may be a cheap bezel that you can have replaced, OR it could be the whole unit that needs to be replaced.
Either way a picture would help for us to see if it can be cleaned, covered up or replaced easily.

Why use an air freshener? they make your car smell like ass, plus a well kept interior will keep a nice like new smell for a long time. My Type S smells new still with 46K miles.
