At 50 000 miles i was complaining a lot for the engine sound, it was almost like a diesel engine somrtimes. They made a valv adjustment and now everything is fine. ALthough my car shakes more when cold at idle, it seems idle is very low or unstable.

 

I have the same problem with engine knock. Dealer and Acura claim it's a result of bad gas.

My problem seemed to start after they removed the exhaust manifold so they could replace the steering rack....two times.

I have been back and forth six times and attempted to get them to repurchase the car, but the failed. During the arbitration, the regional Acura rep admitted they only actually "work" on the car if they have a engine code indicating a problem. The days of troubleshooting the problem by swapping out parts are long gone.

You mentioned the dealer did a valve ajustment. Do you have any additional details? What dealer?

I would like to try to get my dealer to make an adjustment and see if that corrects the problem. The more information I can give them, the better chance I have.

 

i have a slight ticking in my engine that bothers the hell out of me. something isnt right. i took it to the dealer and they told me everything is normal. at least they tried fixin your guys stuff! i think its all bullshit!

 

Hy , guys, i must admit i had to fiht a lot with the dealer to admit it wasn't normal.

My Acura dealer is in Montreal Canada so i don't know if it would help you.

THere's a clearance admitted for the valv if i remenber it's a figure between 20 and 24, they adjust mine at 20 wich is the tightest.

I have also the rack and pinion change twice , one last only one week ( where is the quality)

Really i can bearly here the engine outside now, before 100 feet away i could clearly hear my engine.

I knew the 4 cyl Honda have this issue, i didn't know V6 also. It may depend if you drive hard with your engine , i don't know.
