Urgent advice needed - car sputtering and stalling

Hi,

Just started happening 15 minutes ago. 06 6MT - when I'm coasting to a stop in neutral, the car will just keep dropping RPMs...then it'll start to sputter and stall. In order to not do that, I have to keep my foot on the throttle a little bit to keep the revs higher.

When I got it home and tried to shut it off and on again, it would hesitate in starting. I can hear the fuel pump priming, but then it'll just keep trying till I mash the throttle a little bit and then it catches...and idles roughly.

No CEL at all, but I've heard that it's best to go to Autozone anyway and have them pull codes just in case?

I was running on E a few days ago (had no choice...but yes, I know, bad idea) and filled up using premium BP gas.

My amateur guess is that I may have a clogged fuel filter...? I'd appreciate feedback because I need to get this sorted out ASAP.

What should my next steps be? Go to Autozone and see if they can pull a code...should I keep driving and see if the presumed clogged filter will keep the car running for now? Could it just be a little bit of bad gas?

Thanks in advance.

my other cars have a device that regulates the air at idle. its normally called idle air controller or ica iac something like that. quick fix is to clean it but you need to replace it. I am not 100% sure the tl has one but i would guess it does. maybe another member can chime in but normally thats what will cause idle issue.

fuel filter would show whne you step on gas hard and it bogs down like its not getting fuel.

advance cant pull a code if it has not popped one.

I am crappy shade tree mechanic so take every thing i say with a grain of salt and get confirmation else where

I believe its two 10mm bolts holding the EGR.
take these two off and inspect the inside of the EGR.

most likely it'll be filled with carbon deposits.
clean it out! and then install it back on!

Yep just attempted to do that...and it started raining. Hastily put everything back together and decided to move the car back to the usual parking spot....and it runs like a champ (for now). CEL still on but no more stalling. Literally, all I did was remove the plug, remove the nuts, took off the valve...rain...put everything back.

Of course, tomorrow I'm going to clean it for real, but .. my car is a troll. Made me all that work only to end up being okay (for now) - trollface...

You'll have to reset your codes after the fix, as they aren't going to shut off until doing so. An Acura dealership or part store can usually do it for free.

^for CEL's all you have to do is a simple battery reset.
take the negative battery cable off.
most people say 5 mins.
but i've reset the CEL by leaving it off for less than 2 mins

if you have a OBDII reader, you can reset CEL that way too.
