Understeer fixed!
Understeer fixed!
YES! Understeer is not so bad anymore
BACKGROUND STORY:
Me and the rest of my Senior class were going to the beach so I decided that it would be a good oppurtunity to learn how my car drove under highway circumstances. The beach was roughly about 60 miles away and I thought there was something wrong with the fuel system because when I checked the manual, it said I had a 17 gallon tank and when I filled up from almost empty, the gas pump stopped at around 13 gallons. o.O That and when I had been inputting people's numbers into my system(NEVER DO THAT WHILE DRIVING! ambient noise makes for stupid inputs. I had to try at least 12 times to input a buddy's number) and had left it in idle(air conditioning) in the thirty minutes i had been sitting in the car, the gas meter went down about a little less than 1/8 of a tank! So I thought a quick fix might be inflating the tires because i had thought they were a little low.
The Fix:
I waited for my tires to get cooled down and then filled them with air. But when I did it, I noticed that my front right tire was @ 32 PSI versus my left @ 34. I filled them all to 34(i figured they werent "cold") and then drove home to get a few things. NO MORE COUNTERSTEERING FOR HARSH UNDERSTEER.
before, I had the same problem as a lot of users on this forum where I had to deal with harsh understeer to where I had to constantly apply pressure towards the left because the car would head right. I guess something small like that can really affect a FWD car?
I hope this string is of use to you, it worked for me

On the race car we make adjustments by the half pound or pound
Many of us here run 36 front 34 rear for cold pressure
Helps more with the understeer
Install a Cusco lower frame brace for better-flatter cornering
As for the gas guage- low light comes on with approx 3 gallons remaining
they 17 gal is approx capacity and is not all USEABLE fuel
may not pick up the last gallon or so, but I have put 16.3 in once
