Type-S Rear Aspec Install Question

I recently installed the type-s rear aspec lip on my TL. Everything went well with the install, except for one minor issue. The plastic tore when I pulled on two of the adhesive backing strips. Not sure if I tightened the bolts too tight and this is why the strips tore. I attached an image highlighting the locations for the double sided tape I was not able to use. My question is, "How important are these double sided strips in maintaining a good fit and is it worth the time to take off and remount?" Thanks

Yeah, I was thinking, if it's tight enough to tear that thin plastic strip...then it ain't going to move.

How difficult was it to install you ASPEC Kit? Did you have to cut anything other then just drill where indicated? I just ordered mine and havent' decided if I rather do it myself or pay to get it on.

Op if you bolted on you should be fine. I on the other hand didnt want to drill through my type-s rear bumper so I removed them and place Locktite 3M double sided tape and clipped the sides and bottom. If mine is holding properly yours should too.

For me the hardest part of the install was the Side Skirts. 2nd place for easiest was the rear bumper, and the front bumper can be done in 30 minutes, all you need to do is jack up the car high. I was nervous about doing it, and I almost drilled the wrong holes on the rear bumper ( you will see what I'm talking about in the instructions), but that 400 dollar install quote solidified my attempt at a DIY.

On topic, you can always put heavier tape on the rear bumper, and I believe there is a DIY on here for that information. My front and rear bumper by the wheels have very small gaps, but IMO I don't think its worth the effort to take it off and seal it up any time soon.
