Trunk release button problem

OK... my trunk release button on the driver side is not working... I messed with the little switch in the glove box and it still doesnt work. The remote opens it but not the dash button. Is there a specific situation in where it does work? or is there just something wrong with my button?

If you checked the switch in your glove box and your remote is still working it would seem that you either have a problem with your switch or your trunk release button. The only thing I can think to suggest would be to check the connections behind the dash to make sure that the switch and release are plugged in well.

Yep, check the defeat switch in the glovebox. But if the trunk pops with your remote fob, then you know something is wrong with the dash switch.

My trunk release button MOUNTS broke and the whole got pushed IN. How annoying! The mount points are so WEAK! Bad design, can't even epoxy it. Had to rig up tape etc. as a temporary fix. I wonder if anyone else had this problem.

ive forgotten to plug mine back in when i installed the remote start and then again when i did the smartstart for the remote start... have you taken the drive side dash down recently or has it never worked?

does it light up? if not the plug was either not plugged back in or has fallen out

I didnt realize that the release button was suppose to light up (mine does not)... I just got the car a few days ago. I will check the connectors and see whats up. I thought it may be a fuse but everything else works and I doubt it would have a fuse all its own...

took the switch out of the glove box area and disconnected it then used a mechanics trunk release disable test tool (aka a paperclip) and the trunk opened with the release button, so apparently the valet trunk release disable switch is bad, so I'm about to take it apart and repair it...

ok... somehow, the switch had been taken apart and the actual switch tab part had been flipped the other way(dont know how in the hell that happened)... switched it back around and now it makes clicking noise when slid back and forth, put it back in and BAMM!
