Trunk failure

Hi all,

I ran a search and found all the info I could before posting. I have a new '07 TL-S with 2,200K miles on it.

Yesterday I took it to get washed and when I got home the trunk wouldn't open. I saw the guy open it at the car wash and wipe the water off the edges, so I'm not sure what the problem is. It obviously doesn't open with the remote; I tried messing with the cut-off in glove and even tried pulling the lever in the pass-through port in the backseat. Nothing seems to work -- when I hit the trunk release or press and hold the button on the remote I hear a sound like it's trying to open, but nothing happens.

Could the car wash guy have slammed it too hard and disabled it, or maybe left a rag in the latch? Regardless, I'll take it in later this week, but wanted to check and see if there was anything I was missing.

Cheers,

Kyle

Sometimes my '06 trunk just gets a little stuck. It will click "like it's trying to open", as you described, but you can't see it move. But it really is unlocked. Just hit the trunk release and pull up on the trunk.

Trunk opening issue

my 05 used to have a latch issue, the latch would not fully disengage once opened, so when i closed it would slam the collector bar on the body into the tensioner on the trunk. Once it would not open but it did after i tugged on the lid edge.

Check in the glove box to make sure the main trunk release hasn't been turned to off.

Got this fixed today, under warranty of course. They replaced the trunk opener solenoid.

This was a long time ago, I know, but can you give me the part number for this?
