Trouble starting car. no crank

Hi Acura friends, I have a no crank condition started recently. Need your opinion what to do. when key's turned, the starter makes a single click noise. no crank, no other noises. holding the key and hitting starter body doesn't help. repeatedly turn off/turn on the key will make car start. Maybe about 15% success rate. sometime more sometime less. Battery has been exchanged twice at costco, so battery is likely to be good. also, switching from Park to neutral back and forth doesn't appears to do any good. battery terminals were cleaned. Any friends had same symptoms and what was your fix? thanks and happy new year!

Not my car, but my brother's 2005 TL had this exact problem. We first took out the ignition switch and cleaned the contacts but it was ultimately the starter that was the problem. Seems to be a common failure point on our Acuras. Starter is pretty simple to replace, just getting a socket on that 1 starter mounting bolt which is at a weird angle is the hard part.

Not bad for a OEM starter that lasted 175K mi, mine 06 starter was replaced at 75K mi. Good luck with the DB, great price for a brand new starter.
