So I just went out and adjusted the heat shield, and it worked!!! No more noise.

It's surprising just how little you have to do. I simply got underneath the car, and pushed the heat shield up with my hand.

It moved ever so slightly (say about 1/16th of an inch), and when I went for a test drive, the noise is now gone.

I probably need to go back and tighten the head shield bolt so it doesn't slide down again.

Have you checked the fluid level?
