Transmission Question

I have an 05 TL and have noticed that my transmission seems to be making a winding sound when starting off from 0 to about 20mph. It is not jerking or causing any known problems. It just seems to be getting louder in the first couple gears. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks.

Check the RPMs when this happens. I find that mine is whining from about 1800 to 3000rpm. I've take it into two dealerships and they both said it was "okay" since other cars are doing the same thing. Well, today, I was pulling out of a parking lot and the transmission went THUNK when I put it into R. It did it a few more times so I took it into the dealership down the street.

After going on a few road tests with me, they said that it's starting to show the same symptoms as the 2nd TL transmission failures: whine, thunks, slow engagement between gears. They told me to hang on to it for this week and to go back if it still does it after a week.

Good luck
