Transmission problems

Hey I have an 04 acura tl auto and the tranny has been acting funny recently like when im driving it is randomly down shifting sometimes and when I try to put it in triptronic mode it doesnt show what gear it is in. I wanna know the solution could it be that I need to do a tranny flush.

Torque converter needs to be replaced. That is what it sounds like based on your explanation.

Hello Bach,
The torque converter is fairly in expensive. I bought a tranny rebuild kit and torque converter for around $500.
Now, installing it is another matter. The trans needs to come out which requires removing both front wheels, all front suspension, drive axels, struts/shocks, hang the motor, remove all plastic under front, tie rods, front cross member/engine/tranny support. To remove/rebuild the tranny you need a Acura factory shop manual ($140 to $150), a lot of tools and a clean place to work. Otherwise, not too hard. youtube "university" is also a huge help.
