Transmission Issue

Hello - I'm a new member, but have been reading this site for a while. I've received a tremendous amount of help, and for that I'm grateful. Hopefully, someone can help diagnose the current issue I have.

I have an '06 with approximately 105K. Without warning, my transmission has stopped shifting properly in and out of all gears (including reverse). It waits a long time to upshift and sometimes takes 15+ seconds to do so. In addition, it will randomly downshift at speed, then proceed to upshift 5+ seconds later. A few times, the car has refused to shift into gear after coming to a stop. In these situations, I have turned the car off and back on to get it into gear. Using the manual gear selector does not help much. Also, my CEL has not come on.

Any help would be much appreciated. I hope the tranny isn't dead.

I'm fairly new too, but this transmission topic is one of interest to me. Here is what I recommend, but I will defer to the smarter guys on this forum. These options are fairly inexpensive and are most likely overdue on a car with 105K.

Change out the external transmission filter:

Change out the transmission 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches:

Perform a dump/fill transmission fluid

While draining your ATF, get a sample from the stream and mail it in for testing.

778 you can perform what is mentioned above, but it's more like a bandaid fix. Would not guarantee it'll solved the issue. Are you planning to keep the car for a while? Or u could try to get it working and sell it. Or you're other option is get it rebuild.
