Transmission Gasket Replacement
Im leaking oil which looks like transmission fluid and its coming from where the transmission and the engine connects. Anyone know how much its gonna cost to replace the gasket? Or possibly a DIY to do it?

I know my girl went to Aamco transmissions and asked how much to change the transmission to engine gaskets b/c they were leaking and they said it was around $1500 because they have to pull it out and open it up...
Thinking that was ridiculous I started messing around with craigslist typing in mechanics, transmission repair specialists etc, and I was lucky that I found a guy who worked full time as a transmission rebuilder at Aamco and did work on the side and charged $1500 to completely rebuild trannys. Only thing was it takes him a week to complete. But for the price to have a completely rebuilt tranny it was a deal.
So It might not be your seals, but something inside that is causing it to drip.

They quoted me 1,095 w/tax for the repair if I wanted to do it. I knew it had a small leak but since it was nothing major I passed on it. But after seeing what other members' quotes were, my offer didn't seem too bad even though the seal is like $7 bucks. But it is labor intensive, just sucks how the labor rates are applied for that service.
I got this quote in spring of 2014 from Ball Acura in the San Diego Region. All work would be warrantied, along with parts I went with them, getting other quotes at the time just for kicks were similar to others, around $1500-1800 from indie shops, and other Acura dealers.

Those labor costs is definitely out of my price range. Ill probably be looking to do it myself. It'll be my first time working on anything this major but I'm up for the challenge and the learning process.
