TL-S is possessed

I spent the entire weekend driving around with the famous "behind the Navi rattle", and it drove me nuts. It sounds like two plastic pieces rubbing together. I get in my car this morning, and its all quiet, gone. I want to take the car to the dealer(still under warranty), but im afraid of wasting my time because it might not be making noise. I love my car but can honestly say that Acura workmanship is questionable at best. Does anybody know , or have experienced this stupid rattle in their TL. I need advise.

I've had a couple of rattles from that area and the problem is not acura's workmanship but the slight design flaws in their parts. Their parts are pretty tight together and a lot of them expand/contract with weather changes. Since there is no real foam or barrier between the parts they rub and produce a rattle or a noise.

Acura did manage to fix a LOT of them in the 2007 facelift by redesigning a WHOLE lot of parts and areas of the car.

As far as the navi rattle goes, there are a couple of potential sources:

1. Center Speaker Grille
2. Center Speaker
3. Loose navi Screen screws
4. Loose Radio screen screws
5. The bottom compartments (2 carbonfiber/wood) rubbing against the bottom of the radio

If you are out of warranty acura may not cover the repair and may waste your time. However it is worth it to call them up and have them document it so if it happens again and continually happens again you can show them you called and told them the first time it occured

i had a problem when i first got my car and it drove me crazy too...it was the compartment doors...i took a new sponge and lodged it between the top of the compartment and the radio. door still closes perfectly and no more vibration.

drive the car and have someone find out where the noise is by applying pressure to certain areas and holding the compartment doors, both when they are open and closed. Dealership is gonna waste your time. try this first before you go there.
