TL S 07 - 250 HP - lost 36 HP

Hi, I'm on the forum not long ago, sorry for my English, I use a translator. Not so long ago took measurements of my TL s and the device showed that the car 250 horses instead of 286. Regulating valves, fuel injectors clean. Who will tell - what could be the problem?
I live in Ukraine, there is no formal service or Acura dealer. Thanks in advance.

Well, I don't know about how did you measure it, but wonder how could that be possible?

Unless you're not measuring a real TL-S.

Cuz, TL 3.2L has 258HP

While TL Type-S 3.5L has 286HP

We measured the two machines at once - Sivic Type R 07 (euro), it showed 201 horse (this is normal) and my car, but I do not have 36 horses. Run my car 35000 miles.
WIN 19UUA76597A005830
ifirahse 250 HP = 212.7 WHP

Your car's engine has 286 HP, but your car loses 36 horsepower due to the driveline losses.
Horsepower measurement at the wheels is lower than measurement at the engine crankshaft (used by car makers).

Based on measurements at Dino's stand should be at least 230 whp (on Yutube many such examples).
I showed 212.7

alexSU Hi Привет да и говорю и пишу по русски ну или на Украинском еще можно ))))
LoveMyTL-S
New or old standard - does not matter, I repeat - if the Civic should be 201 horse, and it shows 201, but I have 250 instead of 286 shows. This means that it corresponds to the number of horses instructions, but my quantity no.

That's true. If you have money, you are untouchable. I want to visit again, maybe summer 2010.

Purchased at Ebay
You guys probably surprised, but before the crisis, such a machine we have cost $ 65000 , now $ 45000

alexSU Welcome, but do not forget to immediately buy a ticket back ))) then of course things have changed, but the main problem - it is our politicians who only think about money, but not about the country

Dyno measurements by Drivers here are to the wheels. Acura measures HP at the Crank.

At the crank Acura reports 286 HP; drivers here report ~245HP at the WHEELS. That is normal.

Where are you measuring HP? At the crank or at the wheels? If you are measuring 250 HP at the wheels, that is a little better than normal.

Maybe you have a base TL with a type-S cosmetic conversion? Have you checked if you really have the 3.5 motor?

Akselerometr.I no doubt in his testimony, we measured the two cars - at one all normal, and I do not If I had all the horses, I would not be lost of stock Camry 3.5, also on a / t. Yesterday I bought a service manual, I will look into the problem

actually you might still lose to the camry 3.5L. Stock I have seen 14.3@97MPH in the 1/4 mile for the camry. I think the best 1/4 mile I have seen for a stock auto TL-S is 14.5. Its a good drivers race with the edge to the camry due to the 6AT vs the acuras 5AT.

You still haven't answered how you've tested your whp... Если хочеш напиши мне в личку.

The car was originally shipped from U.S.?

I'd say it is the test methodology.

How do you test at the crank? When Acura does it, isn't the engine removed from the car (with accessories and exhaust attached)? How else do you access the crank to connect to the dyno?

Even if the above ( ^^ ) is off base, I'd still look at the specific methodology for testing crank HP. Acura uses and SAE standard method (modified a few years ago. 2004? 2005?)

TeknoKing 250 (crank) / 1.175 = 212.7 (whp), if 245 (whp) x 1.175 = 287.7 (crank) .
was originally shipped from U.S in july 2008

You should check compression and valve clearances, check the timing as well. What type of fuel are you using? What was your a/f ratio?

spark timing..

air to fuel ratio..

btw.. the TL has reportedly pulled timing on 93 octane.. try using a higher octane, make sure egr valve is clean and adjust pcv valve properly.

I'd have to agree with the above statements, unless I have sunoco 94octane my car just doesn't feel right. If I put in 91 it feels like it's bogging and misfiring. I suggest getting some better fuel.
