TL catching gear

TL catching gear

I have an 04 TL that when I press the gas it doesn't seem to catch gear. Any insight on what to do... Thanks in advance!!

Auto or manual? If auto, by not catching gear you saying it slips? Rpms rev up but no forward movement?

check your transmission fluid level, it should be a pinkish red color. If you have a manual transmission, it could be the clutch needing to be replaced.

It is auto, it does go forward just revs up higher than normal.

signs of a failing torque converter, low fluid pressure or low fluid. Check the condition of it and make sure it appears between the 2 holes on the dipstick after the car is at operating temperature (halfway up on the gauge). Make sure to check it within 90 seconds of turning off the engine.
