Could be many things: compressor kicking on (normal), drive belt tensioner, valves (as mentioned earlier).

ok, thanks! I would have heard this noise. Even my wife, who never hears the little things I do, made mention of it to me. I'll take it in to have it looked at.

I don't hear any clicking noises..
Definitely not timing belt. There have been some issues with the tb idler pulley or adjuster making noise. Take off the drive belt and start the car.. if the noise goes away, you have your answer.
Does the noise get louder / frequency increase with increased RPM?

My 07TL has a very loud noise in cold morning. I feel like metal griding as the low RPM like within 2000. It goes away after 15mins when car warmed up. I am wondering wouldn't be a pulley or heat shield? But I brought to the dealership once they told me heat shield was ok. Any ideas? appeciated

probably is fine but i would check ur oil level - drivetrain noises can become more audible when your low on oil. Also could be your purge control valve i know these are known to click

I recorded the noise the other day before going into work.

I'll record a better version when the weather gets cold again. Does it sound like the valves? I want to avoid paying the dealer or another shop a bunch of money to mis-diagnose the issue.
Thanks.

You can have your valves relashed. I know this is a problem with a older Bseries engines. I had pretty bad valve ticks on the CR-V. Got my valve adjusted and it went away. I never experienced it on the TL though, but it sounds like it is what is happening.

Donny0391,
I'm actually having the same exact noise from the same location on my Acura TL. I think it might be the pulley tensioner. The click noise comes on as soon as I start my engine, and can usually hear it inside the car when driving at higher rpms, particularly the freeway. I'm going to the dealer on Saturday to have them check it out. Have you been able to determine what the problem was? Have you fixed it, and if so, how much did it cost to repair?

Timing Belt Noise
Well, I have been getting the same timing belt noise as can heard from the video posted by rickfc. I ended up changing the serpentine belt and tensioner assembly since I noticed that the belt would wobble in in every direction as it cycled. The "noise" appear slightly less than it was before. I have also taken the car to the Acura dealer, but the service rep said that they dont hear anything unusual and that if there's anything wrong with the car it will just get noisier and at that time will they be able to assess the problem. I bought the car with 33k miles and it now has 86k miles. I guess cars just get noisier with the extra mileage. When I get to 100k, I will probably end up spending 2k on replacing brakes, suspension, all belts except serpentine, changing out spark plugs, and putting it a new water pump. I'll see then if it still makes the same noise.

Dude,
How many times do you need to be told it's normal? There's nothing else we can do for you here.
If you're really concerned, take it to a mechanic who will either tell you it's normal or charge you $300 for a valve adjustment which may or may not change the sound. I say "change", not eliminate....
