Thump when accelerating from stop

Unhappy Thump when accelerating from stop

assuming it's a bad motor mount. any idea which one? I have a mechanic frind who can install, but he lives out of state and I need to order before I take it to him. front? read several posts about the side mount going bad early. car has 200K on it

Thanks, does that have anything to do with the tranny? bc I got my trans replaced last year at AAMCO for $3000

is it hard to replace yourself?

I personally dont think its a hard job, but I do have some experience working on cars. However, if you dont really have any experience doing this, I would recommend taking it to a mechanic

front mount is easy and this is generally what you do

all you need is

ratchet and sockets
jack stand
piece of 2 by 6 wood

loosen top nuts
go under car and loosen nuts
place wood on jack and raise engine so you can clear mount
install mount
lower jack
tighten mount nuts on bottom
tighten mount nuts on top
