Doesn't work properly, very dim and can't see from a distance. Been having problems with this for a little while, any suggestions/ how to remove and/or fix?

As a heads up, I feel the need to offer some different advice. At work, we see this problem from time to time. And believe it or not, what we actually see more often then not, is a faulty brake switch. Now, I know, you're thinking if the switch was bad, why wouldn't all the brake lights not work right? Well, I don't have an answer to that. But, I'm just saying, this is what we see more often.
My other reason is, the new 3rd brake light is at least $100 I think? And the brake light switch is only like $10 or $15? So even if that doesn't fix it, you're not too much money out.
I don't suppose you have a friend or co worker, etc, that you could borrow parts from their car to test? As both are very easy parts to swap with basically no tools. Just my
BTW, we had a tech that once replaced the 3rd brake light, and the problem was fixed...for two weeks before it came back. After replacing the switch, the car never came back for that problem.

dude.. they gave you the answer on a silver platter.. You want us to walk you to the dealer and tell you to crawl up under the kick panel too? How did you make it this far?

lol my bad. I replaced the brake light switch after opening my eyes and reading a little. Thanks for the advice! Brake lights are back to normal operation. BTW I stopped by the Acura dealership and they wanted nearly $18 for the switch. Stopped by autozone. $13 bux.
