terminals on wrong side

terminals on wrong side

I really screwed up this time i took my battery out to fully charge it and when i put it back i put the terminals on the wrong side of each other now nothing will turn on in my car the battery is fine but i dont know where to start any suggestions would help

Check all your fuses, both underneath the dash and under the hood. If any blew, replace those.

sure.. turn your volt meter to the "continuity" mode and test all the fuses to make sure they're blown.


You may have just blown the main 100/120A fuse in the underhood box..


how the hell did you even put them backwards, the ground (negative) cable is purposefully short to stop this from happening..

I think his point was the cables shouldn't even reach the wrong sides of the battery....unless you have modified the cables somehow. I know my cables just barely even reach the correct terminals....didn't think it was even physically possible for them to be crossed.

Hopefully it is as simple as one of the bigger fuses being popped.

What i had did was put the battery in reverse meaning the neg was by the pos and the pos by the neg

it was the 120/70 amp fuse
