Temporary memory loss

On a couple of occasions my car has had a temporary memory loss. Here are the symptoms: the temp readout goes flatline, radio presets are gone, climate control memory is reset. I tried turning off and restarting the car, and that had no effect. Then later (next day) everything was back to normal.

Do any of you have any suggestions? Has this been recognized by Honda as an actual problem? I don't want to take my car in and have them just screw around with it if they have no idea what they're doing. Any ideas?

WOW...that usually doesnt happen to me until after the 12th beer. j/k.

That is weird! Also have 05....never had it happen to me at all. Cant imagine what the problem is. I would take it in...maybe they will just swap the whole computer out for you or something....

One thought- are you using just one fob, or using whichever remote fob you can grab? Each remote rob has individual settings which include the radio presets and climate control. In the dash, the fob would indicate "driver 1" or "driver 2" after you enter the car.
Maybe the fob you are using needs new batteries, which may explain the lost presets and also the flatline in the temp readout if there is insufficient power to transmit fob's identifier.
If changing out the fob batteries (might as well do both fobs if you're buying batteries) doesn't clear up the problem, see the nearest dealer and have it run a diagnostic.
G/L, and let us know so we don't develop a[nother] neurosis worrying that the TL is beginning to behave like the proverbial German cars we all tried to avoid!

maybe one of the remotes has become unlinked, to relink it, hold the unlock and lock button simultaneously until the LED blinks twice on the fob

I always use the "driver 1" fob. However, its batteries are pretty old, so who knows, that may be the problem. The "driver 2" fob is brand new, so it has new batteries, and AFAIK the problem has never happened to driver 2. Hmm.

Thanks for the suggestion, Will. I'd never have thought of that. I'll replace the batteries in my key fob and will post here if the problem surfaces again.

Actually my German car was just fine that way .. never had a nerosis about it at all .. I ended up with a TL because I thought the new generation of the German brand was ugly .. anyway .. lets not get off topic ..
