Talk about perfect timing

So I took my TL to the local Acura dealership cause I've been having a problem with 3rd gear. When I bought the car it was about 200 miles short of 50,000 miles and by the time I found out about this problem being a common problem, it was over the 50,000 mile warranty. So I had a serious doubt that they were going to be able to A) duplicate the problem and B) that if they did, they would fix it for free since it was out of warranty. After about a hr of sitting at the dealership, the service manager came out to give me some great news. Apparently when the service tech took it on a test drive, 3rd gear popped out the very first time he shifted from 2nd to 3rd.. Talk about Luck!! And according to the service manager, Acura extended the warranty to 52,500 miles. I took the car in with 52, 475 miles on it..Couldn't have timed this any better. I'm taking the car back in Monday morning to have the 3rd gear set replaced..I can wait...Will update as soon as the repair is done

If it wasn't covered you could have changed the trans fluid with GM synchromesh and called it a day.
