that's not from a defective tail light. That's from your tail light rubbing up against your car as you drive. I have the same problem but it's because my car was in a wreck previously and the tail lights do not line up 100%. Some of the edges actually touches the body panel of the car.

A perfect car with no prior accidents will have very slight 1-3mm gaps around the edges of the tail light and the actual body of the car.

Are you the 1st owner of the car?

If you are not the original owner, do you know if the car has been in any type of accident?

Mine is worse than yours.

judging from the pictures, your new tail lights seem to be touching the body panel of your car just like mine. You should inspect your previous tail lights to see if they have the exact same cracks in the same location. Chances are they do.... My OEM tails had slight chippage / cracks. I bought new tail lights and got them modified. Installed them and not even a month later they started developing similar chips / cracks on the same tail light in the same location...

My car was in a accident on the passenger side front quarter panel but yet my tail lights and rear bumper managed to get out of alignment ever so slightly.
