Switching Gears - Something is wrong

Just started this morning. When my 2007 TL-S switches gears it feels like the transmission is going to fall off. It jolts the steering wheel and shakes the car, then finally gets into gear. Rinse and repeat as I continue to accelerate. I'm worried this might be an expensive trip to the dealer. Before going however I like to reach out to my fellow Acura friends.

PS - For some reason the battery light came on in the car and advised me to turn off my AC and radio, etc. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I did turn off the radio and AC and the warning light disappeared, but the problem remained.

Anyone else experience this? Maybe I just need more transmission fluid. Haven't changed that in a while.

First, check your transmission fluid to confirm level, color, and smell. Next fix your battery/electrical issues. Electrical issues can cause all kinds of other oddities on the car.

Check both of your shift solenoids.

So went to the dealer to have them give me their insights. They did say the change my transmission fluid for $150 which I'll just have them do (although that seems pricey). They said the alternator was returning codes that it is putting out a low charge. They want $790 to fix that O.o

Interesting on my way to the dealer the car acted fine. That seems really high for an alternator doesn't it?
