Suspension noise after complete removal 05 TL MT
about a month ago I did a clutch replacement.
The following things I took off were,
- Caliper
- Shock from fork
- upper ball joint
- tierod
- sway-bar endlinks
- LCA from sub-frame
- axle
- shock from frame
- front motor mount
- trans mount
- dropped sub-frame
after I put it all back together, drove it, it has made this popping/clunk noise when suspension is moving at low speed over cracks/bumps. I have checked all bolts/nuts twice. Tonight I loosened both side suspension system after raising the car, lowered it with weight on the suspension and level to ground. Tightend all bolts/nuts again. Put back tires on, drove it, seems to have made it worse. Now when I come to a full stop and as the car flexes back after fully stopping, theres a clunk. Before the clutch change, it never made a noise.
I can't for my life figure out where this noise is coming from. Shock? some kind of mount? Suspension bushings don't look that so bad at all. But yes they are all old, 157k miles and do need replacement but just can't afford to replace it all right now. Just really want to figure out this noise and replace it without having to replace something, then find that it wasn't the issue, replace more parts and run out of money.
