Sunroof issues - Dry????

Hi guys,

So my sunroof shield is super rough when I open and close it. I know that I tend to get leaves and dust up inside there when I leave it tilted open. So, my question is, does anyone have a lubrication procedure for the sunroofs. I would really like to know how to pull the sun shield forward when the sunroof is retracted, but I don't want to break anything.

Any help would be much appreciated.....

Mine is getting really hard to slide open and close too. And it sounds like its binding, but it may be that is just needs lubrication. I just ordered some of the shin-etsu stuff on ebay yesterday. Not sure if that is what Honda uses for the sunshield or not. For added info, I bought some 3-in-1 type household oil, and I put it on the glides, and it made it worse! It's really bad now. If the Shin-etsu doesn't work, I guess a lubricant spray with silicone might be the next try. But I think silicone was really only engineered to resist water. So how well it provides lubrication for this sunshield, I do not know.

Silicone grease should be good for rubber seals (like door seals to reduce squeaks and the like)- Shin Etsu is great for this purpose, but I'd use some lithium grease spray on a metal track as with the sunroof.

If you want to pull the sunshield forward and access it from the top, then I think you have to close the sunroof, raise the rear, and then unscrew it and dismount the glass.
