Sudden drop in gas mileage

Im suddenly experiencing a drop in gas mileage on my 08 tl. I'm usually getting 33 now I'm getting 29. Still using 91/93 octane and oil changes every 5-7k with synthetic oil. Anyone else having this problem

- what part of the country?
- are you idling a bunch in the winter to warm up?
- has your driving changed any?
- flat tire?
- dragging brakes?

I went from 24-29 down to 19 suddenly. But....it got f'ing cold here and lots more idling as well as lots more "city" driving the past 2 weeks.

Same tires? I can't remember which all seasons I changed to once (based on Consumer Reports ratings), but although the tires performed well my mileage took a significant hit.

I'm not seeing an issue here; my TL bounces around between 27 mpg (on the highway) and 36 (also on the highway). There are so many factors which impact fuel economy this time of year, C-O-L-D air being chief among them. The thing about cold air is it really hurts fuel atomization the further south of 40°F the temperature gets, the worse the atomization gets; just this last week I drove down to New York and got 32 mpg; when I came back on Friday night the temperature was south of 10°F, and that leg of my trip returned 27 mpg.

Try driving around North Jersey, I'm getting only 16 Mpg on local roads.
