Subwoofer causing headlight to go out?
Subwoofer causing headlight to go out?
Whats up. I have an 06 TL and got a system put in. I had the factory amp bypassed to an aftermarket 4-channel to power the interior speakers. I also hooked up a 12" L5 solar baric. For some reason now when im driving the left headlight will flicker then go off after about 5 mins of driving. Then i have to turn the headlights off for about 15 secs and turn them back on. But if i turn the stereo off completely and drive the headlight wont turn off or flicker. Just wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be. Its really a pain in the ass. Thanks
could be a power consumption issue. Might want to consider a capacitor for the amps or a higher output pulley for the alternator. Maybe theres a loose connection somewhere? Do your interior lights dim at all? How much power are you running to your amps?
Yup..it sounds like your current electrical setup cant keep up with the power demands of your audio system. This happened to a kid in our high school autos class....A proper capicitor rectified the situation.
Yeah im hoping just a loose wire but not sure yet. The 4-channel is 500 watts and the Mono to the sub is 1000w. Interior lights dont dim nor do the headlights when its turned up, thats the only reason why i wouldnt think the power supply, the light just goes out. I got an optima battery powering the car.....i dont know if that would help at all. How much does a capacitor??
probably something loose under the hood on the headlight end or power issue...i have never heard of a system not enabling or making the HIDs shut off. i had an issue like that but it was a bad ballast it would go off and id turn it off n turn it back on and then it would tay on like oh its good and shut off again....i had the ballast and bulb changed
