Stutters during acceleration

Wondering if anyone has experienced this problem. I have 2007 TL auto and every now and then during mild to moderate acceleration the car stutters during the transition from 3rd to 4th gear. I was thinking it could be the transmission, but it shifts very smoothly most of the time. Need help on this...

I have the same issue, but it's only under very light acceleration around 25 mph. I'm assuming it's a problem with the torque converter in my case. I've already changed the pressure switches and that didn't make a difference. Next try is the 3x3 with amsoil. Good Luck

yes it's the torque converter, had the same problem when I first bought my 2008. had the dealer change it out before I drove off the lot with the car. no problems since and it's been almost 2 years

Well, the car isn't under warranty so I hope the dealer doesn't rake me over the coals on this. I think it's time to get an extended warranty now.

This has been one of the most talked about problems on this board. Change the fluid with a DexIII fluid and change out the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches and you're done. 07-08 have an extra switch or two.

I'm sure the shudder is under light throttle. The dealer will never be able to replicate it. Maybe they tend to drive it hard when looking for a problem.

I do not think paying for an expensive repair like TC replacement and then purchasing an expensive extended warranty is prudent. Just put that money away yourself towards future repairs

Seems like the torque converter.

Add this to your fluid. Instant fix. I have 10,000 miles on my car since I added it and no more shudder.

You can add this also. Has the same additives in it plus more for extra heat protection.
