Stripped Caliper

Stripped Caliper
Done a bunch of searching since I screwed this up last night. I over torqued the caliper mounting bolt on my 2005 TL (auto trans non-brembo).
Options seem to be 1) new/used caliper, 2) helicoil or 3)re-tapping with a larger bolt (see below)
I'm thinking of option 3. If so, do I just tap the caliper with this larger tap? Would this be 16x1.5?
Does anyone see an issue with this option? Thanks!

I won't mess with the heli-coil on a caliper.
It could cost well over 100.00 just to get two them installed properly.
That is why I went to the next available bolt size.
All said and done for 20.00.
If you would rather replace the caliper, go for it.
But for other people who don't have the access, this is a much more affordable option and it is a quick fix.

New bolt and retap should be just fine. I think you will need to re drill and then tap. Not sure about the size. machine shop should be able to make that call. you may want to keep it metric though just for consistency.
