Good Afternoon Gents,


There is this strange thump sound coming from the pulley area. I changed my serpentine belt a couple of months ago and the noise almost completely went away. I rotated all pulleys by hand except the crank pulley before installing the new belt and they all seem fine.


The new belt must have created more tension which makes me think it's one of the pulleys because the sound almost went away. Now the sound is back lol.

I can't turn it up much here at work but can you take a video from the fender well? Have you tried taking the belt off and seeing if the noise goes away?

 

never tried taking the belt off to listen for the noise. ill have to take another video from the fender well

 

Yep, need to run it with the belt off first, but I'm guessing it's the drive belt auto tensioner...
