strange sound for 1st shift into 2nd
Hello all,
In the last few weeks, I have noticed a strange noise exactly when my car shifts into 2nd. It sounds similar to the sound of a pump priming. It is not very loud and the car shifts well. The sound only occurs on the first shift into 2nd. If I stop the car and begin to accelerate again, there is no noise when the car shifts into 2nd. If I turn off the car, return in 20 minutes, the noise returns for the first shift into 2nd.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. A few neighbors have a 3g TL, I'll ask them if they can hear the sound or ask them to tag along on a test drive.
The sound is not comparable to the sound when the abs engages. This winter, I've had the abs engage a few times while braking on ice. If the sound of the abs engaging on ice is a 20db (just a guess), then my mystery sound is more of a 3 db. If I have music playing, I cannot hear the mystery sound.
