Steering Wheel Vibration under Acceleration

SO, for a while now, the steering wheel's been shaking under acceleration. Typically mainly under some what spirited acceleration. Can anyone chime in? I'm no longer under warranty - thus Id like help to pin point the exact cause. I'll be getting an alignment tomorrow, and I just recently got new tires; however, the problem was still the same prior to getting the new tires.

Thanks,
Eric

probably cv joints- that spirited driving will eat them - especially since you are lowered car
If not them- then the output bearing on the trans, but more likely cv- the easy fix~
replace complete cv axle assembly- its better that way
Look for torn boots every time you change the oil- grease leaks out- dirt goes in- goodbye axle bearing
To Test:
Try starting off with the wheels turned all the way to one direction- move forward very slowly with windows open, listening for click click click- try it the other direction- hear anything? thats cv

ya more than likely the cv joint but you will not hear that noise when turning. That would be from the inner joints that you would not hear clicking when turning. Can be felt on accel like that. or you can physically feel the play in the axle sometimes

or it could simply be an alignment issue, or maybe one of your wheels are bent;

01tl4tl is 100% correct with his guess and advice. Vibrations under load are usually related to the axle. Could be inner or outer joint. As he suggested, it's best to relplace the entire thing. You could pick up rebuilt ones for around $150.00 ea.

Try locking the wheel one way and then going forward and backward. be sure to press on the accelerator to put the axle under load. This will exaggerate the problem. if you hear clicking, you found the problem. If there is no clicking, it could be the inner joint or a problem with the transmission (not likely though).
